What we run into in Fairfax
Most places we work have one dominant building stock. Fairfax has all of them at once.
Within a short drive you can go from old in-town houses near the historic centre, to post-war ranches and split-levels, to 1970s and 80s colonials on wooded lots, to townhouse rows, to recent infill. Each of those fails differently: the old houses open up at the cornice and the chimney, the split-levels at the roof-to-wall junction where the two levels meet, the 80s colonials at the gable vents and soffit returns, the townhouses along a shared roofline.

Can you give me a price over the phone?
Not honestly, and Fairfax is the clearest example of why. The same squirrel in a 1950s split-level and a 1985 colonial two streets away are different repairs at different prices. What we can do on the phone is tell you what we think it is and what the inspection will involve.
My house is a split-level. Is that a problem?
It's a pattern we know well. Split-levels have a junction where the lower roof ties into the upper wall, and that junction is one of the most reliable entry points in Northern Virginia. It's usually the first place we look.
How much of Fairfax County do you cover?

Do you do commercial buildings?
