What we run into in Spotsylvania
We're based in Partlow, which is in Spotsylvania County, so this is the one service area where we're not driving in from somewhere else. It's also the most varied county we work.
Up near the courthouse and along the Route 1 and I-95 side it's subdivision housing, and the calls look much like Stafford's — attic squirrels, roofline entry, raccoons in a torn soffit. Head west and south, out toward Partlow and Thornburg, and it turns into acreage: older farmhouses, crawlspaces, detached garages, sheds, barns and outbuildings.
That second half generates a different job list entirely. Outbuildings are where we find bats and snakes. Decks, sheds and slabs are where we find groundhogs, and a groundhog burrow under a footing is a structural problem long before it's a wildlife one.
- Two distinct halves — subdivision housing near the courthouse, acreage and farmhouses west and south
- Crawlspace-and-pier construction on the older rural houses
- Detached garages, sheds, barns and outbuildings — where the bat and snake calls come from
- Burrows under decks, sheds, porches and slabs, with a fan of soil pushed out
- Wooded acreage on most rural parcels, so the tree line is the roofline
Spotsylvania call-outs
What we get called for here.
Squirrel removal
Subdivision attics near the courthouse, and older farmhouse rooflines further out. Same animal, very different repair.
Squirrels in the attic →Bat removal & exclusion
Barns, outbuildings and older farmhouse attics. Protected animals with a legal season — we're certified and permitted for the work.
Bats and outbuildings →Mice & rat control
Crawlspaces, sill plates and outbuildings. On acreage the pressure from outside is constant, which makes sealing the envelope the only durable fix.
Mice and rats →Wildlife exclusion & repairs
From a subdivision gable vent to a barn foundation — every entry point sealed in material that holds.

Spotsylvania questions we get asked
Are you actually local, or is this a call centre?
Actually local. Wild Bunch is run out of Partlow, in Spotsylvania County, and when you call the number you're talking to Mike — the person who'll be doing your inspection and standing on your roof. There's no dispatcher in between.
Something has burrowed under my shed.
That's usually a groundhog, and it's worth dealing with before it's a foundation problem — the tunnelling undermines footings, slabs and deck posts over time. We handle the animal, then screen and trench the opening so nothing digs its way back in.
Do you work on barns and outbuildings, or just houses?
Both. On acreage the outbuilding is often where the problem actually lives, and treating the house alone just moves it around. Tell us what's on the property when you call.
Which parts of Spotsylvania do you cover?
All of it — 22551, 22553, 22565 and Partlow's 22534, including Thornburg and the Lake Anna side of the county.
